What is The Fire For?

Clint went into detail about what the fire of the Holy Spirit is really for. Many people may think it is only about speaking in tongues, but it is so much more than that. He gave the illustration of carrying around your cell phone for a year, thinking you know everything it can do, and then suddenly someone shows you a feature you never knew existed.

Clint showed us some additional features of the Holy Spirit!

What is the Fire For?

By Clint Rogers

“I baptize you with water; but … He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” — Luke 3:16

As our teens prepare to leave tomorrow for youth camp, we had the privilege of hearing a powerful message from their camp speaker, Clint Rogers.

Since this was Pentecost Sunday, it was fitting that the message focused on the fire of the Holy Spirit initially being poured out in Acts 2:3-4, “Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”

First, the fire is for YOU.

God wants us to be on fire! He wants us to have all of Him and all the power He intended for us as we navigate this earth as His representatives. Clint shared that God has given us our own prayer language and called it our “secret weapon.” When we don’t know what to pray, we can allow the Spirit to pray through us. As we pray in the Spirit, we are praying perfect prayers in alignment with God’s will.

As we pray in the Spirit in our heavenly language, breakthrough happens in the physical realm. Clint said, “God wants breakthrough for us more than we want it!” We must stay hungry for more and continually desire more of His fire.

Secondly, the fire is for your FAMILY.

Isaiah 59:21 says:

“And this is my covenant with them,” says the Lord. “My Spirit will not leave them, and neither will these words I have given you. They will be on your lips and on the lips of your children and your children’s children forever. I, the Lord, have spoken!”

Clint told the story of Reinhard Bonnke and how previous generations of his family were not godly. But 18 years before he was born, his parents encountered the fire of the Holy Spirit. That fire was passed down to his generation, and Reinhard went on to spread the Gospel to millions through his crusades.

Finally, the fire is for the WORLD.

We are called to the ministry of reconciliation. As 2 Corinthians 5:18 reminds us, God has entrusted us with the mission of bringing people back to Him.

Jesus’ final instruction before ascending into heaven was to “Go!” But He also told His disciples to “Wait!” for the fire. With the fire of the Holy Spirit comes boldness, courage, and direction to evangelize the world.

At the end of the service, many people were baptized in the Holy Spirit and filled with fresh fire. Now let’s go out and preach boldly!

Acts 4:31 says: “After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness.”

If you have never been baptized in the Holy Spirit, you are welcome to come up to a prayer minister at the end of any service and receive this gift of Holy Spirit fire. It is a gift the Father desires for every believer!

Do you know God personally? It's a question worth slowing down to consider. In a culture where information is abundant, it's possible to know a lot about God without actually knowing Him. We can quote Scriptures, attend church, listen to sermons, and participate in ministry activities, yet still miss the relationship God has always desired.

This Sunday, Pastor Kara delivered a powerful message on the reality of two opposing kingdoms: the Kingdom of Light and the kingdom of darkness. Through a sweeping journey across Scripture, beginning in Genesis and continuing through the New Testament, she revealed God's heart for His people and the enemy's ongoing strategy to deceive them.

Beginning in Genesis, Pastor Ben revisited the story of Eve and the serpent's deception. He explained how the enemy convinced Eve to reach for something she already possessed. In many ways, that same lie continues today. Women are often pressured to believe they must prove their worth through status, achievement, or success, when God has already declared their value.

Islam Almost Killed Me

Born into Islam in Iran and trained to give his life for his faith, Mohamad shared how everything changed when a friend risked everything to tell him about Jesus. For the first time, he realized he didn’t have to earn acceptance through sacrifice, Jesus had already paid it all.
What’s Included in the Covenant:
Overabundance and Increase

At the center is a powerful truth: the great exchange includes provision. Jesus became poor so that we could step into the fullness of life God intended, not just spiritually, but in every area.
