How Is Remembering Is One Of The Greatest Tools We Have? | Pastor Ben Díaz
Remembering is intentional. It’s more than recalling an event. It’s bringing God’s goodness to mind again and again until it begins to renew our thinking.
This is the heart of biblical meditation: filling our minds, imaginations, and words with His truth.

The Power of Remembering
Pastor Ben Díaz
What has God already done in your life that you need to remember today?
This Sunday, Pastor Ben Díaz shared a powerful message on The Power of Remembering, reminding us that the testimonies, promises, prophetic words, and encounters we’ve experienced with God are meant to shape the way we think and approach our future.
Remember What God Has Done
Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly calls His people to remember His faithfulness.
In Deuteronomy 5:15, we are reminded to remember where we came from—not to revisit shame, but to recognize the mighty hand of God that delivered us.
Deuteronomy 8:18 reminds us that it is God who gives us the power to prosper.
And Psalm 103:2 declares:
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits.”
We are also called to remember the prophetic words spoken over our lives (1 Timothy 1:18) and to remember what we have received and heard, hold fast to it, and repent (Revelation 3:3).
Remembering is intentional. It’s more than recalling an event. It’s bringing God’s goodness to mind again and again until it begins to renew our thinking.
This is the heart of biblical meditation: filling our minds, imaginations, and words with His truth.
Don’t Forget What You’ve Seen
In Mark chapters 4–8, the disciples witnessed extraordinary miracles.
They saw Jesus calm the storm, heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, multiply food, and walk on water.
Yet even after witnessing these things, they continued responding to new challenges with fear and unbelief.
Mark 6:51–52 tells us that the disciples were amazed when Jesus walked on water because they hadn’t understood the miracle of the loaves. Their hearts had become hardened.
The miracles they witnessed hadn’t yet changed the way they thought.
Later, in Mark 8:18, Jesus asked them:
“And do you not remember?”
What a powerful question for us today!
Let What God Has Done Shape Your Future
Every testimony of God’s provision, healing, faithfulness, and goodness is an opportunity to renew our minds.
We shouldn’t have to start from zero every time we face a new challenge. What God has already done should strengthen our confidence in who He is and what He has promised.
This principle extends to our relationships, too.
We can intentionally remember what we love about our spouse, encourage others by reminding them of God’s promises, and surround ourselves with people who help keep His vision alive in our hearts.
What we choose to remember matters.
What Do You Need to Remember?
This week, ask the Holy Spirit:
“What do I need to start remembering?”
Take time to revisit the testimonies, encounters, and promises God has given you.
Speak them. Meditate on them. Allow them to shape your expectations.
Don’t let what hasn’t happened yet dominate your imagination. Fill your heart and mind with what God HAS done and the miracles you HAVE seen!
Remembering is one of the ingredients for seeing more miracles in your life.
This week, ask the Holy Spirit if there’s something you should be remembering that maybe you’ve forgotten.
