Are You Ready for
The Third Great Awakening
Pastor Ben Diaz
Hello Church Family!
Pastor Ben opened by honoring Charlie Kirk, noting the massive memorial gathering at State Farm Stadium and framing Charlie not as “a political figure,” but as a bold, loving brother in Christ whose life and witness stirred a generation. He reminded us that we’re not a “normal church following a program,” but a prophetic, faith-filled, grace-grounded church that must listen for what God is saying now. Charlie’s courage, stewardship, and “Here I am, send me” posture challenges us to carry that same mantle.
We are living in a kairos moment—an appointed, God-orchestrated time—within the broader “third Great Awakening.” Like labor contractions that grow closer together, recent waves of evil and crisis signal acceleration, not to terrify us but to sober us. The question is whether the Church will hide in comfort or rise as a movement. He pointed to Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—people who resolved not to bow—calling us to that same determined resolve.
He showed in Revelation 6:9 that the martyr’s crown went to those who were “faithful in their testimony.” Like Stephen in Acts 6–7 and now Charlie, they were both bold and faithful to speak truth. He addressed those questioning if the rapture would happen on Rosh Hashanah (Feast of Trumpets) this week, Sept. 23; he urged biblical watchfulness—knowing times and seasons without date-setting—so we live ready. We must hold two realities: plan diligently for the long haul (build, work, disciple) while living with the urgency that Jesus could return at any time.
Explaining the parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25), Pastor Ben contrasted religion versus relationship. All had lamps, all said they were Christians, but only five carried oil—symbolic of a living, personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. Pressure and persecution expose whether we have oil or only labels. The Church should comfort but also challenge; love must come with truth, even when truth sounds like hate to those who hate truth. Now is the time to “get extra oil”—to draw near, deepen our relationship with God, repent, and refuse lukewarmness.
Pastor Ben also confronted the fear of man. He asked, “Do you talk enough about Jesus to get into trouble?” Christ set us free to speak the gospel—“He set you free so you can set others free.” Not all are evangelists, but all are to be evangelistic. This is an activation moment: know Him deeply and make Him known boldly, trusting the Holy Spirit to supply wisdom, courage, miracles, and divine appointments.
Finally, the church prayed and commissioned Gen Z and young adults, declaring boldness, purity, authentic worship, and Holy Spirit fire. Pastor Ben led a call to surrender—returning from empty religion to real relationship, asking the Spirit to “fill us with oil.” The message ended as both a memorial and a marching order: a turning point for our church and our lives. We are to step fully into our calling, disciple others, and live ready for Christ’s return. To hear this powerful kairos-moment message in its entirety, click here.
