Even If...

Pastor Kara Diaz

Pastor Kara shared the story from Daniel chapter three, about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who stood firm in their faith when King Nebuchadnezzar demanded that everyone bow to a giant golden statue of him. Despite the threat of being thrown into a furnace, they boldly declared they would only worship God. Their fearless faith impacted the whole kingdom of Babylon! Your faith impresses God, too!

In their response, they also demonstrated powerful hope. “Even if” God didn’t deliver them, they knew their eternal future was secure with Him. This unwavering trust in God’s love removed all fear from their hearts. Pastor Kara reminded us that perfect love casts out fear, and fear has no hold on us when we know God loves us unconditionally.

Pastor Kara gave a simple tool to dismantle fear: imagine the worst-case scenario, then ask, "Then what?" Keep asking, “Then what?" until you realize that the worst thing that can happen is spending eternity with Jesus! She also highlighted Paul’s courage in Philippians 1:21, where he declared, “For me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.”

Pastor Kara challenged us to live with fearless faith, hope, and a deep awareness of God’s love. She said, “A little faith reaps miles of rewards with the LORD!” If we realized how powerful our faith-filled prayers are at moving God's hand, we would pray a lot more!

One of the most profound truths in Scripture is that God reveals Himself to us as Father. Many people know God as Creator. Others know Him as Savior, Provider, Healer, or King. Yet one of Jesus' primary missions on earth was to reveal the Father and invite us into a relationship with Him.

One of the greatest gifts God gives us in every season is the opportunity to know Him more deeply. Pastor Ben reminded us that every new situation we face is an invitation to discover another aspect of God's nature. When challenges arise, we can ask: "Lord, what part of Your nature do I need to come intervene in my life right now?" Scripture reveals more than 200 names and titles for God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This week we explored four of those names and discovered how they point us to Jesus, how they are fulfilled in Him, and how we are now called to carry His nature into the world around us.

Do you know God personally? It's a question worth slowing down to consider. In a culture where information is abundant, it's possible to know a lot about God without actually knowing Him. We can quote Scriptures, attend church, listen to sermons, and participate in ministry activities, yet still miss the relationship God has always desired.
