Steppping Into Divine Destiny

This is a subtitle for your new post

Ready, Set, GO!

Pastor Ben Díaz

“I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.” — Philippians 3:13-14

There’s a divine calling on your life. Yes, you! God has chosen you for incredible things, and no one knows your potential better than your Creator. You were designed and gifted to become a spiritual giant! But stepping into your calling isn’t a one-time event; it’s a journey that unfolds as you make walking with your Heavenly Father your daily lifestyle. It’s all about the small, consistent decisions to center your life around Jesus. Your role? Obedience, surrender, and sacrifice.

Pastor Ben reminded us that we don’t need to see the entire path—just the next step. Don't sit and wait for your entire calling to appear, have a vision, make plans for your life and God will lead you. Get in action and start doing the next thing. Simply take the next step, and trust that God will guide you. Ask yourself: Am I heading in a direction that pleases God? Is my life growing stronger and more focused on Him?

You don’t need to question whether you have what it takes—God has already equipped you. Look at Abraham: despite his mistakes, he kept seeking God and fulfilled his calling as the Father of Faith and of many nations. Likewise, the disciples started their journeys with fear, doubt, and unbelief, but by answering Jesus’ call to “follow Me,” they grew step by step into their destinies. They became great apostles, preaching to thousands, healing the sick, doing miracles, planting churches, and writing the New Testament!

Pastor Ben also shared his personal story, starting with a simple desire for God that grew over time. From playing the keyboard with one hand to becoming a worship leader, Bible study teacher, and eventually a pastor, and continuing to expand in ministry as doors open. His journey reminds us that “when you walk with God, you grow into your calling.”

This Sunday at Vida, we were challenged with a simple but powerful question: Are we merely Christians who know the Word, or are we actually participating in what we believe?

We can spend so much of our lives looking for the extraordinary that we miss the sacredness of the ordinary. We wait for the next season. The breakthrough. The opportunity. The relationship to change. The circumstances to improve. We imagine that when something finally shifts, then our real life will begin. But God is not only the God of where we're going. He is the God of right here and right now.

We are living in what many have called an epidemic of loneliness. Although we are more connected technologically than ever before, many people still lack deep, meaningful friendships. As the Church, one of our greatest distinguishing marks should be our ability to love one another. Jesus said the world would recognize His disciples by the way they love.

Healthy relationships don't happen by accident. They are built intentionally as we allow God to shape the way we love, encourage, and walk with one another. This week, Pastor Ben continued our Kingdom Relationships series by focusing on two foundational pillars: vision and faith.

Every relationship in our lives isn't meant to carry the same weight. Some are casual, others are seasonal, and a few become deep Kingdom relationships worth intentionally investing in. As Pastor Ben reminded us this Sunday, healthy Kingdom relationships don't happen by accident—they're built on self-control, responsibility, and truth.
