The Holy Spirit our JOY

This is a subtitle for your new post

Holy Spirit, Our Joy
Pastor Ben Diaz

Hello Church Family!

You might think this inappropriate, but we laughed through Pastor Ben's sermon this week, "The Holy Spirit is Our Joy!"

Last week, Pastor talked about the difference between grief, which is holding on to your hurt, and mourning, which is releasing your pain or loss to your Father who loves you. When you give your hurt to Him, then He can heal your heart and restore your joy.

Satan is focused on stealing your joy and sapping your strength leaving you too weak to fight for what Jesus purchased for you at the cross. In these complex, dark days, we need strength to stand in faith and trust God, and the joy of the Lord is our strength! (Neh. 8:10)

When we embrace the Holy Spirit's joy instead of discouragement and fear, our strength and laughter return. Holy Spirit loves to dwell in believers full of joy; He anoints you with the oil of gladness, which makes you attractive to the lost and slippery to the devil. (Psalm 45:7)

When we trust in God's promises and place our discouragement in Jesus' mighty hands, the Holy Spirit transforms our sorrow into dancing, ashes into beauty, and fear and regret into confident hope and hilarious joy. It's a choice we must make—Choose Joy!

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then, you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13 NLT

Pastor Ben reminded us that “a good fight is kind you win.” And the good news is—the fight is already rigged in our favor. Jesus has assured us of victory, but the Lord still calls us to stay engaged in the fight.

He reminded us that we’re not a “normal church following a program,” but a prophetic, faith-filled, grace-grounded church that must listen for what God is saying now. Charlie’s courage, stewardship, and “Here I am, send me” posture challenges us to carry that same mantle.

There’s a big difference between religion and a relationship with God. Religion often focuses on sacrifice and self-denial as a way to try to reach God. But for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ and understand His grace, we know salvation is not something we can earn.

Back in January, Pastor Kara spoke about “God, Our Rewarder” from Isaiah 55:6. Now, at the halfway point of the year, the Holy Spirit is calling us to recalibrate—to pause, evaluate, and make any adjustments necessary to ensure we’re still walking in the perfect will of God.
