There's Only 1 Hope 4 America

Tom Crandall

'Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”'
Matthew 28:18-20

This Sunday, we had the honor of hosting Tom Crandall, the outreach Pastor from Bethel Church in Redding, California!

Tom shared such an inspiring message about the importance of sharing the Gospel everywhere we go. In Tom's testimony, he shared that it was a stranger who approached him at work when he was 18 years old that changed his life. He was working when a man approached him with his two children and began talking about Jesus. This man was so passionate, so on fire for God, it stirred something up in Tom that he couldn't shake.

Truth be told, sharing the Gospel doesn't mean shouting out from a stage for thousands of people to hear at a time. Evangelism is telling the people you meet every day that Jesus loves them and that He has a plan for their lives. It's listening to the Holy Spirit and sharing an encouraging word when needed. It's living a life modeled after Christ, so when people see you, they see the Jesus in you.

What would have happened if that man hadn't stopped to talk to Tom about Jesus that day? It only took 30 seconds of boldness from that man to change Tom's life forever. If we want to see revival break out, if we're going to see real change, it starts with us - dying to ourselves, breaking off the fear of man, and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with others. We live in a dark, hurting, and broken world, and truthfully, it would be selfish to hold back the goodness of God from those who need it. There's only one hope for America, and it's our job to share it.

This week, step out of your comfort zone! It just takes 30 seconds of boldness to change someone's life forever with the Gospel. To hear Tom's full message,

This Sunday at Vida, we were challenged with a simple but powerful question: Are we merely Christians who know the Word, or are we actually participating in what we believe?

We can spend so much of our lives looking for the extraordinary that we miss the sacredness of the ordinary. We wait for the next season. The breakthrough. The opportunity. The relationship to change. The circumstances to improve. We imagine that when something finally shifts, then our real life will begin. But God is not only the God of where we're going. He is the God of right here and right now.

We are living in what many have called an epidemic of loneliness. Although we are more connected technologically than ever before, many people still lack deep, meaningful friendships. As the Church, one of our greatest distinguishing marks should be our ability to love one another. Jesus said the world would recognize His disciples by the way they love.

Healthy relationships don't happen by accident. They are built intentionally as we allow God to shape the way we love, encourage, and walk with one another. This week, Pastor Ben continued our Kingdom Relationships series by focusing on two foundational pillars: vision and faith.

Every relationship in our lives isn't meant to carry the same weight. Some are casual, others are seasonal, and a few become deep Kingdom relationships worth intentionally investing in. As Pastor Ben reminded us this Sunday, healthy Kingdom relationships don't happen by accident—they're built on self-control, responsibility, and truth.
