Why aren't You Going From Glory to Glory?

The Art of Honoring
One Another

Pastor Ben Diaz

God’s passionate desire for believers is not just to survive from crisis to crisis but to thrive, moving from glory to glory and living in the abundance He has planned for His family on earth. When we embrace this abundance, we shift our focus from our own needs to the needs of others, becoming vessels of God's love and making disciples of Jesus Christ.

Pastor shared, “God intends for us to live in overflow in every area of our lives. When we do, we step into the cycle of giving and receiving.” Whether it’s time, talent, wisdom, or finances, the more we give, the more we receive.

However, Pastor also explained that living in this abundance requires the use of heaven’s currency. And what is the currency of heaven? Honor.

Through scripture, Pastor illustrated how honoring God, parents, spouses, the Word of God, and the spiritual gifts in each other builds our spiritual bank account and propels us from one level of glory to the next. When Jesus was dishonored and dismissed as “just the carpenter’s son” (Mark 6:2), the people lost the opportunity to receive the fullness of His word and power. Likewise, when we treat God’s word and God’s people as common, we rob ourselves of the wealth of blessings that could be ours.

Pastor reminded us that every member of God’s family is priceless, with unique gifts meant to build up the body of Christ. Jesus gave His life for each one, and when we honor them, we honor Him. Pastor challenged us to look beyond personal preferences and embrace the richness God has deposited in others, making honor a way of life.

Pastor Ben reminded us that “a good fight is kind you win.” And the good news is—the fight is already rigged in our favor. Jesus has assured us of victory, but the Lord still calls us to stay engaged in the fight.

He reminded us that we’re not a “normal church following a program,” but a prophetic, faith-filled, grace-grounded church that must listen for what God is saying now. Charlie’s courage, stewardship, and “Here I am, send me” posture challenges us to carry that same mantle.

There’s a big difference between religion and a relationship with God. Religion often focuses on sacrifice and self-denial as a way to try to reach God. But for those of us who believe in Jesus Christ and understand His grace, we know salvation is not something we can earn.

Back in January, Pastor Kara spoke about “God, Our Rewarder” from Isaiah 55:6. Now, at the halfway point of the year, the Holy Spirit is calling us to recalibrate—to pause, evaluate, and make any adjustments necessary to ensure we’re still walking in the perfect will of God.
