Holy Spirit Sunday

Holy Spirit Sunday
Pastor Ben Diaz
'On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting.'
Acts 2:1-2
This Sunday, we celebrated the Day of Pentecost as a church family! Pastor Ben reminded us of this special day and its importance in this day and age.
There is a fundamental reason that God sent the Holy Spirit to us; Jesus even told his disciples in Acts 1:4, "Do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before." So by studying this, we can conclude that the Holy Spirit is crucial to the body of Christ. And yet, over the years, different denominations of the church have chosen to believe that the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit are no longer available to us.
This is detrimental to the church, as not only is the Holy Spirit our advocate and comforter, but He also equips us with the gifts of the Spirit. The Holy Spirit is our source of power and authority over darkness; without Him, Christians are left powerless in a very dark and hurting world. But we know that the power of the Holy Spirit is actually available to all of us! In the same way that He came powerfully into the Upper Room on the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit is still available to fill all of us so that by His power, we can prophesy, heal, and speak in tongues!
