A Guide to the Impossible

Clint Rogers

This past Sunday, God’s miracle-working power was on full display as Clint Rogers shared the Word of God with us. Clint, who served as a missionary with Pastor Ben when they were teenagers, said, “We’ve seen so many amazing miracles, stadiums filled with people, lame walking, blind seeing—God proved over and over again that He is a miracle-working God. There’s nothing God can’t do!”

Clint led the congregation in a powerful message on tapping into God's miracle-working power. He reminded us, "Problems can come without warning, and while we can’t always control the problems that arise, we can control how we respond."

Using 2 Kings 3 as a reference, Clint shared the story of King Jehoshaphat, a righteous king who joined forces with pagan kings to go to war against a common enemy. In verse 9, we find them in a desperate situation—“they had no water for the army or their horses.”

Their next move is a powerful lesson for us all. They sought God’s guidance by sending for the prophet Elijah. Today, we have the Holy Spirit living within us, so we don't need to seek out a prophet, but like them, we need to fix our eyes on the Lord, not doubting, but trusting God’s Word and waiting for His instructions.

Clint also warned of four blockages preventing us from receiving our miracle: 1) Unforgiveness, 2) Doubt, 3) Disobedience to God’s commands, and 4) Failing to act on God’s instructions.

In 2 Kings 3:15, Elijah told King Jehoshaphat to “bring a harp,” and as they worshipped, the hand of God came upon them. God declared a breakthrough was coming, but it would not happen in the way they expected. He said in verses 17-18, “You shall not see wind, nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water so that you, your cattle, and your animals may drink. And [God said], “this is a simple matter in the sight of the Lord.”

God has countless ways to bring your breakthrough—beyond your imagination! Whether you need a healing miracle, a financial miracle, or restoration in a relationship, God is still working miracles today, and for Him, it’s a simple matter!

Clint also shared a personal testimony about a devastating doctor’s report they received before their youngest son was born. Their response to that challenge made all the difference in their son’s life. To hear this story and other miracles, click here to watch the full sermon.

This Sunday at Vida, we were challenged with a simple but powerful question: Are we merely Christians who know the Word, or are we actually participating in what we believe?

We can spend so much of our lives looking for the extraordinary that we miss the sacredness of the ordinary. We wait for the next season. The breakthrough. The opportunity. The relationship to change. The circumstances to improve. We imagine that when something finally shifts, then our real life will begin. But God is not only the God of where we're going. He is the God of right here and right now.

We are living in what many have called an epidemic of loneliness. Although we are more connected technologically than ever before, many people still lack deep, meaningful friendships. As the Church, one of our greatest distinguishing marks should be our ability to love one another. Jesus said the world would recognize His disciples by the way they love.

Healthy relationships don't happen by accident. They are built intentionally as we allow God to shape the way we love, encourage, and walk with one another. This week, Pastor Ben continued our Kingdom Relationships series by focusing on two foundational pillars: vision and faith.

Every relationship in our lives isn't meant to carry the same weight. Some are casual, others are seasonal, and a few become deep Kingdom relationships worth intentionally investing in. As Pastor Ben reminded us this Sunday, healthy Kingdom relationships don't happen by accident—they're built on self-control, responsibility, and truth.
