Destroying False Evidence

The Battle for Your Faith
Pastor Ben Diaz
My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
Galatians 2:20 NLT
Pastor Ben encouraged us Sunday with a timely reminder: as believers in Jesus Christ, we are called to live by faith. Galatians 2:20 says, "We live in these earthly bodies by trusting in the Son of God." Living by faith means we’re in constant hope and trust, always believing in God's Word and promises. We should never reach a point where we feel we no longer need anything from God. Instead, we should live with a heart full of expectation, eager to see His Word manifest in our lives and walk in the abundance He desires for us.
Pastor Ben also shared a striking analogy: the devil is like a prosecutor, presenting false evidence—lies that appear real and lead to fear. The challenge of standing firm in faith and resisting fear is like a trial in a courtroom. But here’s the good news—God isn’t the judge deciding your fate; you are. The enemy might try to accuse you by dredging up past mistakes and failures, but your defense is clear and powerful: the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Jesus declared, “It is finished!” and that truth is all the evidence you need.
By standing firm in the righteousness we have through Christ’s blood, we strip the enemy of his power. Pastor Ben reminded us not to let the devil’s lies rob us of God’s promises and blessings. Remember the story of the 12 spies in Numbers 13—ten were consumed by fear, but Joshua and Caleb stood in faith, believing God’s promise and eventually receiving their inheritance.
