How to Activate Generational Blessings

How to Activate Generational Blessings

Ashley Terradez

What a powerful Sunday we had with Ashley and Carlie Terradez from Colorado Springs! Their message stirred our faith and reminded us that God's healing power and blessing are not just stories from the past—they're for right now.

Ashley shared how he and Carlie came to understand that when Jesus declared on the cross, “It is finished,” He truly meant it. Every curse—sin, sickness, poverty, death, and lack—was broken. And they’ve seen that truth firsthand through miracles in their own family. One of the most powerful testimonies was about their daughter Hannah.

When Hannah was just three years old, doctors told them she wouldn’t survive. But instead of accepting that report, Ashley and Carlie chose to believe God’s Word. They brought Hannah to an Andrew Wommack conference, believing for a miracle—and they got it! Today, Hannah is not only alive, but thriving—a healthy wife and mother of two. Ashley reminded us, “God doesn’t bring sickness on His children. That would be child abuse! God is always in the business of doing good.”

Ashley also spoke about the generational blessing God desires for His children. He pointed back to Abraham, who was the first to receive the promise. That blessing wasn’t just for Abraham—it’s for all of God’s children. There's two kinds of Christians, he said, "Those who are blessed and believe it, and those who are blessed but don't believe it."

When Abraham believed and obeyed God, it activated the blessing—not just for himself, but for every generation after him. And nothing could stop it. You can be that person in your family—the one who turns the tide from a legacy of debt, disease, divorce, or addiction to a new legacy of health, abundance, and generational blessing.

Ashley showed how each generation in Abraham’s line increased in prosperity:

  • Abraham was prosperous. (Gen. 13:2)
  • Isaac became very prosperous (Genesis 26:12–13).
  • Jacob became exceedingly prosperous, even when deception tried to rob him. Why? Because God gave him a supernatural business plan that caused him to thrive. (Gen. 30:43)

The secret? Jacob had made a vow to honor God first. In Genesis 31:13, Jacob says,
"This memorial pillar I have set up will become a place for worshiping God, and I will present to God a tenth of everything He gives me."

That’s Matthew 6:33 in action—“Seek first His kingdom and all these things will be added to you.”

Ashley challenged us to do the same:
Trust God. Settle in your heart that He is good and can be trusted. Believe Him for the blessing—not just for you, but for your children and grandchildren.

Remember, nothing can stop the blessing of God except unbelief. But when you believe and obey, God commands the blessing! Deuteronomy 28:8 says, “The Lord will command the blessing on you in your storehouses and in all to which you set your hand.”

Ashley also shared a powerful story of how he obeyed God during the COVID lockdowns—and experienced supernatural provision and increase even in the middle of a famine. God can do the same for you!

If you missed the service or want to be encouraged again, be sure to watch the full message here. God’s desire is to prosper you and your family and make you exceedingly prosperous too!

This Sunday at Vida, we were challenged with a simple but powerful question: Are we merely Christians who know the Word, or are we actually participating in what we believe?

We can spend so much of our lives looking for the extraordinary that we miss the sacredness of the ordinary. We wait for the next season. The breakthrough. The opportunity. The relationship to change. The circumstances to improve. We imagine that when something finally shifts, then our real life will begin. But God is not only the God of where we're going. He is the God of right here and right now.

We are living in what many have called an epidemic of loneliness. Although we are more connected technologically than ever before, many people still lack deep, meaningful friendships. As the Church, one of our greatest distinguishing marks should be our ability to love one another. Jesus said the world would recognize His disciples by the way they love.

Healthy relationships don't happen by accident. They are built intentionally as we allow God to shape the way we love, encourage, and walk with one another. This week, Pastor Ben continued our Kingdom Relationships series by focusing on two foundational pillars: vision and faith.

Every relationship in our lives isn't meant to carry the same weight. Some are casual, others are seasonal, and a few become deep Kingdom relationships worth intentionally investing in. As Pastor Ben reminded us this Sunday, healthy Kingdom relationships don't happen by accident—they're built on self-control, responsibility, and truth.
