We Said "YES" to God

This is a subtitle for your new post

The Simplicity of Life
with The Holy Spirit

Bob and Audrey Meisner

This Sunday, Bob and Audrey Meisner, two of our favorite guest speakers at Vida Church, shared a powerful and challenging message: if you want the ride of your life, say “yes” to the Holy Spirit.

We all long for a sweet and simple life without crises, but Bob and Audrey shared that 22 years ago, they faced a devastating crisis in their marriage that made life difficult and hard. Yet, in their darkest moments, they discovered a profound truth: our Redeemer lives. Bob passionately declared that no matter how much you’ve messed up, God is always there, ready to turn what seems like your greatest setback into something extraordinary. If you trust Him with it, He will propel your life forward into sweet peace and simplicity, guiding you toward the exciting purpose He has designed for you.

The Meisners reminded us that we are called to live a life filled with righteousness, peace, and joy—a life that truly works because it is led by the Spirit of God. These qualities are the currency of heaven, and the world is desperately searching for them. As we bear the fruit of the Spirit, offering love, joy, and peace to others, we become ambassadors of God’s Kingdom, drawing people to Christ through our transformed lives. The fruit of the Spirit in us, is for others, not for ourselves!

Bob explained that true transformation begins when we align our hearts with God’s promises and truths. When our hope is anchored in the finished work of the cross, we are changed from the inside out. Jesus gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us, and with His power, we are called to continue the miraculous works of Jesus—performing even greater miracles as we love the world empowered with radical, Spirit-led love.

For those who feel like they can't hear the Holy Spirit, Bob reassured us that the Word promises, “My sheep hear my voice.” Transformation, he said, comes from living from the inside out. When we recognize God as the source of our dignity, value, and worth, we can live in His sweet and simple presence. Audrey also led us through an exercise to practice hearing God’s voice.

This Sunday at Vida, we were challenged with a simple but powerful question: Are we merely Christians who know the Word, or are we actually participating in what we believe?

We can spend so much of our lives looking for the extraordinary that we miss the sacredness of the ordinary. We wait for the next season. The breakthrough. The opportunity. The relationship to change. The circumstances to improve. We imagine that when something finally shifts, then our real life will begin. But God is not only the God of where we're going. He is the God of right here and right now.

We are living in what many have called an epidemic of loneliness. Although we are more connected technologically than ever before, many people still lack deep, meaningful friendships. As the Church, one of our greatest distinguishing marks should be our ability to love one another. Jesus said the world would recognize His disciples by the way they love.

Healthy relationships don't happen by accident. They are built intentionally as we allow God to shape the way we love, encourage, and walk with one another. This week, Pastor Ben continued our Kingdom Relationships series by focusing on two foundational pillars: vision and faith.

Every relationship in our lives isn't meant to carry the same weight. Some are casual, others are seasonal, and a few become deep Kingdom relationships worth intentionally investing in. As Pastor Ben reminded us this Sunday, healthy Kingdom relationships don't happen by accident—they're built on self-control, responsibility, and truth.
